How the score works

Reach × Impact × Confidence ÷ Effort. A higher score means more value for the work involved.

  • Reach: how many people it touches in a quarter.
  • Impact: how much it helps each of them, from minimal (0.25) to massive (3).
  • Confidence: how sure you are of those two numbers.
  • Effort: the total work, in person-months.

How I use it

  • At GlobalData I prioritised 200+ backlog items with RICE.
  • The score starts the conversation. It does not end it.
  • Low confidence is a signal to research, not to guess higher.

Nothing you type leaves your browser. The list is stored in the page address and on your device.
